In the event that I disconnect or discontinue service on my Number, how do I retrieve it?

If your number is disconnected, whether voluntarily or involuntarily, the number is given back to the original operator and you lose all rights to the number. In such an event, you would have to go to the original operator and request the number again. The operator is under no obligation to provide the same number to you.
